Last Friday, my wife Anna woke up early, looked out the window and saw a bright comet as dawn was breaking.
I'm pretty sure it was Tsuchinshan-ATLAS, the great comet in the evening sky the prior month or so.
Photo attached via her iphone.
Anna says it was much bigger and brighter to the eye than in the photo, with multiple fanlike tails.
If anyone one can confirm or correct, please let me know (Dick?).

That comet is long gone, very faint now.
No new comet has been reported, either new discovery or … with very dry air short contrail

Hi Phil, Anna & All,
Sorry for late response, but I was out of commission to undergo a major
lumbosacral spine fusion...with amazing success!
Any chance that Anna saw a less incredible, yet still sensational, fireball
meteor?
I saw my first one ever last month. It was impressive -- the most gigantic
and dramatic "shooting star" I had ever seen -- but they are so fast.
I reported the viewing of it to the American Meteor Society and it was
confirmed by other reports. It was very brilliant and brief.

How long was your event?
You can compare your event to the charts at the following links to see if
anyone else spotted a fireball at the same time. There were a number of
reported and confirmed sightings over the past week since we are
experiencing Orionids and Leonids, etc.

One can report a fireball sighting here:

I wish I was able to take a photo, but I was out in my garden, turned
around, and <boom!> then it was over! So delighted I didn't miss it. It
was a thrill.
Very Best,
Stine
