I had a chance over the weekend to take my time while reprocessing M51 with Pix and the new Blur Xterminator.
As you can see, the improvement in detail is striking.It even sharpened and brightened the two tiny galaxies above NGC5195.I was also able to bring out more of the galaxy's whisps, per John's observation.
I imagine a comfort level with this new tool will develop over many applications.

I am going to test on a few others (1 month free trial by the way), but if I keep getting these results this is indeed a game changer.

Detail is exceptional! background and whisks have some grainy effects but its a worthwhile tradoff for the sharpness.

I had a chance over the weekend to take my time while reprocessing M51 with Pix and the new Blur Xterminator.
As you can see, the improvement in detail is striking. It even sharpened and brightened the two tiny galaxies above NGC5195. I was also able to bring out more of the galaxy's whisps, per John's observation.
I imagine a comfort level with this new tool will develop over many applications.

same data, had to play with it a bit of learning how now, a BlurXterminator processed NGC2024. all I can say is... WOW. like I took my scope into orbit above the atmosphere.

The stars in regular processing are OK, but by first treating them to BluX.. the stars while still in linear state became much better. stars are sharp, from edge to edge. Also.. note along the left (eastern) side. on blux version 2 galaxies popped into view not seen on the original processing !! wow.
I am going to test on a few others (1 month free trial by the way), but if I keep getting these results this is indeed a game changer.

As per Mario's advice, I reprocessed M51 one more time, applying MultiScaleLinearTransform to reduce noise after DBE but prior to applying BlurXterminator (slightly reduced). Then I stretched the image.
The result is a clean background, nice wisp visibility, and much more detail in the galaxy.
2019 image is attached once more for comparison.
I think this is the final.

so I played with another image.last week also took the flame, NFC 2024, came out "OK" but was not the best steady night.So attached is usual processing.... NGC2024.
same data, had to play with it a bit of learning how now, a BlurXterminator processed NGC2024.all I can say is... WOW. like I took my scope into orbit above the atmosphere.
Like that old "monkeys song,... "I'm a believer" now.This is blowing me away... comments anyone?

I just re processed with first using BluX, and results are astounding. I attached both for you to examine.The stars in regular processing are OK, but by first treating them to BluX.. the stars while still in linear state became much better. stars are sharp, from edge to edge. Also.. note along the left (eastern) side. on blux version 2 galaxies popped into view not seen on the original processing !!wow.
I am going to test on a few others (1 month free trial by the way), but if I keep getting these results this is indeed a game changer.

I had a chance over the weekend to take my time while reprocessing M51 with Pix and the new Blur Xterminator.
As you can see, the improvement in detail is striking.
It even sharpened and brightened the two tiny galaxies above NGC5195.
I was also able to bring out more of the galaxy's whisps, per John's observation.
I imagine a comfort level with this new tool will develop over many applications.

You're right Mario, this is a very powerful tool.
I redid my 2019 image of M51 (which I thought was pretty good), by first going back to the DBE step and then adding BlurEXterminator.
The difference in sharpness is striking. I didn't spend too much time on the other steps.
The contrast and color would have been even better if I had.
