Hi folks, our next Halibut Point star party is scheduled for next Saturday
night, July 13, from 9:00 to 11:00. Weather permitting, we'll have the
first-quarter moon as well as galaxies, nebulae and star clusters, and
we'll keep an eye on T Coronae Borealis, the soon-to-explode star everyone
is waiting on. Here's a map -- the star is in the little red circle:

I hope you'll join us on the 13th, between 9:00 and 11:00. Please park in
the main lot and walk the short distance to the Visitor Center. The
first-quarter moon should illuminate the area enough to get around, but if
you use a small flashlight please shine it only on the ground, and never at
a person or telescope.
If you're bringing a scope, setup time is between 8:00 and 8:30. Drive up
the gravel road across the street from the parking lot; if the gate is
closed, open it and close it behind you. Late arrivals may need to unload
equipment and park in the main lot.
I will keep an eye on the forecasts, and confirm or cancel right here on
Saturday around noon. These can be a lot of fun, so keep your fingers
crossed.
