Hi all,
I have not tried this yet, but about to download the new pixinsight
version 1.9.
Note it comes with a "XMARS" data set you can download as part of it,
reference data on the complete sky to help better correct gradients, It is
a bit better than graxpert. I include a link below for a blog that compares
multiple methods, I am not ready to discuss, I need to try it out, but
giving all a heads up.
FYI I have a great contact in New Zealand who has given me access to all
his database sub images, in return I am giving him helpful (I hope) hints
at better processing.

All this reminds me that our photographers haven't met in a while. The
second Monday in January is the 13th, which would be our regular night.
Happy New Year, and let me know if there's any appetite for a Zoom at 8:00
pm Monday 1/13.

I will be airborne that day, return Jan 22.
I want to try out the new pix process for gradients and new pixinsight so… how about February first that. ( if you all have something to discuss however by all means go ahead$

Hi Mario
Thanks for the information. s mentioned the other night, I have beenplaying around wit the JWST data (as described in Sky and Telescope). I did not follow the authors instructions for combining in Photoshop; besides I only have PS5.1 which does not have the functions he described. So I wanted to merge the different channel frequencies in Pix. Previously I had always used the Multichannel Synthesis script in Pix but the newer vesion of Pix dropped that script. I was reviewing my notes from our meetings and could not identify the function to perform the process. I still have the older version of Pix on my older pc so I've been experimenting with SHO-AIP for now. Any suggestions with the newer Pix would be helpful
Thanks
Barry
