we're getting near the end of the legislative session, and here's a quick
update on the statewide outdoor-lighting bill: it's doing well in the House
(now bundled with other bills under a large "energy" bill), but in the
Senate it's hanging by a thread. here's how members of GAAC can help:

TONIGHT (WED) CONTACT YOUR STATE SENATOR. please send an email tonight AND
make a follow-up phone call tomorrow morning. the vote on these amendments
is tomorrow (Thursday). contact list for all state senators:
malegislature.gov/Legislators/Members/Senate

ask for his/her vote to approve "Amendment 52 of bill S.2829" — technically
it's S2829-52. here's a link:

in your message, emphasize that the "dark-sky bill" WAS SUPPOSED TO BE PART
OF THE SENATE ENERGY BILL, but that it was unexpectedly stripped by the

floor. if you want some talking points, download the attached fact sheet
(ignore the bill numbers you'll find there; they've been superseded)

112 amendments have been proposed for this energy bill, and only the ones
with demonstrated support will make the cut.
