Every forecast points to a great, clear night tonight for our first star
party of the year, 9:00 - 10:30 next to the Visitor Center at Halibut Point
State Park in Rockport. All are welcome, and there is no cost. Flashlights
are discouraged near the Visitor Center, but if you need one for safety,
please point it at the ground, and never at a person or telescope.

Scope setup starts around 8:00, sunset is 8:22, and public viewing,
starting with the first-quarter moon, begins at 9:00.

If you are coming to enjoy the views, please park in the main lot on Gott
Ave, and walk the short distance up to the visitor center. If you are
bringing a scope, drive up the gravel road from Gott Ave, open the gate,
drive through and close it again after you. Parking may be scarce by the
Visitor Center, so later arrivals may need to unload and then move the car
down to the main lot.
