Hi folks, just a quick heads-up -- our final HPSP star party this summer is
scheduled for this coming Saturday night, August 24, from 9:00 to 10:30.
We'll keep an eye on the forecasts as the date approaches, and make our
weather decision Saturday morning.
There will be no moon in the sky for most of this one, and the sun sets
around 7:30, so we'll have a good view of some deep-sky objects like
galaxies, nebulae and clusters, and we should get a good long look at
Saturn as well. The rings are mid-tilt, almost edge-on, but are still
visible this year.
Come see us. As always, please park in the lot on Gott Ave and walk the
short distance to the Visitor Center. If you are bringing a scope, try to
arrive between 7:00-7:30, and please let me know in a separate email (no
need to spam the list).
