Flame nebula from last night

Hi Phil, so.. for some reason previous attempts at this object have proved
difficult for me, NB imaging poor color.
So.. last night did R,G,B and used Ha just as the Lum.
Had some moon gradients, but worked those out
Came out better then the previous, difficult object I think because parts
are emission, and parts are reflection.
You can see the bright star on lower right that lights it up as blue rays
coming in just off the frame.

Hi Mario,
Very impressive, especially the great size and no noise.Did you apply HDR? I think it would sharpen nicely with a setting of 6.
Did you experiment with RBG+Ha for color? How did it look?
The Flame really does have an odd color. Not the tradition magenta, more like a muddy red.
Phil

I did do HDR
I did not add the Ha to red, I used the Ha as lum I think that gave the sharpness it needed. Could have been done either way I think
Yes, the color on the flame is difficult, I tweaked a bit but let the color combination stand when combined.
It’s much better than my previous attempts with NB alone ( no O3 to speak of) and just color filters lacked punch
This seems the best outcome
I think
It’s because the blue is all reflection, and the red is mostly emission making for a difficult composition

Indeed, much more natural color than NB alone. The time you invested was well spent.
