This should be interesting.  The eastern limb of the moon will begin covering Mars at 9:10 pm on the night of 13 January. The red planet will emerge from the western side of the moon at 10:40 that same night

Also, Mar will be at or near opposition that night—so nearer to us at any time during the next two years.  Good for viewing
